Nigerian trade mark registrations have an initial validity period of seven (7) years and it starts counting from the date the application was put in.

Do i need to renew my trademark registration?

Yes, you need to renew your trademark registration. A trademark is renewable for periods of fourteen (14) years from the date of expiration of the initial registration or of the last renewal of registration. An application for renewal should be made not less than three (3) months from the due date.

Note that renewal of trademarks can only be done by accredited agents.
